Yanni!

We have some Yanni fans at our house. I started listening to him in high school, as did Sam, and of course it has become something that our own family now listens to. Abram very much enjoys his music, so much so that Yanni was inducted into his Hall of Fame 3rd grade project last year. Seth enjoys the music, but admittedly gets a little tired of it when it's been blasting from Brother's room 24/7. (It's not always that bad--or good?).

Imagine our excitement when we learned that The One and Only Yanni was coming to Denver! We bought our tickets in December, and have patiently been waiting for April 29th for The concert. Friday night finally came, and what an unforgettable night it was!!

The concert was absolutely AMAZING. We were all just giddy. To our excitement he played many songs we were familiar with, and the smaller theater made for a more intimate setting. There was much interaction with the audience. The talent was absolutely jaw-dropping, the music exhilarating, and the family memories made unforgettable. Abram was in hog heaven, clapping, standing, hollering, smiling, and air-violining. Seth's excitement was more contained, but he had a great time as well. Seth did get a little sick of it by the 4th encore, but all in all did fantastic. And Chase just plain out wasn't invited.

Okay, some pictures from my cruddy camera. Yanni was always in the spotlight, and my camera just couldn't handle it. If you squint real hard, you can make him out.

Yanni's drummer of 30 years was JAMMING out during this picture. Oh my goodness, the solo was amazing. There's not much to see in the picture, the drummer is all lit up, but it will bring my family memories.
And last but not least, our family picture. (Boy do I look old in it. Ugh.)
And just in case you haven't had enough Yanni yet, I'm going to add a video clip of the two violinists performing a song we heard last night. Same people and song, just not our concert. This was one of Seth's favorite parts. Enjoy!

Okay, okay, I had to add one more, more for our families than anything. You guys will love this. Dad, the harp is for you. Maybe Abram should have stuck with that after all? :) This was an encore song called The Storm. The artists are mostly different, and I have to say I'm not a big fan of Yanni's look in this clip, however the music is FUN.

Wow! the Storm was amazing. How many cups of coffee does it take to play like that?

We are Yanni fans here, too. Don't you wish you could play like, well, any of those people? Maybe that will be Abram up there playing with Yanni one day! What a fun night!!
