Scouting
Abram has the awesomest 11-year old Scout leader. He wants the boys out in the great outdoors at least once a month, so they have had some pretty sweet adventures. With hiking, fishing, campfire building, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and the latest, a backpacking trip, Abram has had a blast. On June 1st they did an overnight backpacking trip in the Lost Creek Wilderness. We learned all about the science behind packing a pack properly and how a pack should fit. We were just barely able to find one big enough for the excursion that wasn't too big to make life miserable. The highlights of the trip were joining The Polar Bear Club in the snow melt-off, and "bouldering" which in this sense means jumping from boulder to boulder and exploring new paths and caves. You know, the kind of activity that would do a mother in if she were witnessing it. Seeing pictures and hearing all about it was plenty enough.

Wow, Abram what beautiful country in which to backpack. Wow, Lanita nice to hear the stories and see the pictures after the facts.

Those pictures are amazing! Wow!! (Though I agree that it's probably better to see them and hear about them AFTERWARDS and not while it's happening!!)
Only a little jealous-what beautiful territory! Live it up Abram!
